Ordination
A candidate is usually called to ordination to the diaconate in third year of major seminary and to the priesthood upon the completion of major seminary education. The Bishop of the Diocese ultimately decides if the candidate is ready to assist in the Bishop’s ministry to spiritually serve the people of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston and the people of the State of West Virginia.
